Me, Her & Her Concert to Raise Money for Community Center

Publication: 04/29/2010

The Community Center has just become the Charlotte Music Factory’s newest musical concert venue! Sunday, May 23 at 5 PM, lesbian trio “Me, Her & Her” will perform a benefit concert at The Center to raise money for The Center. Mixing ballads about social change with rollicking parodies, “Me, Her & Her” mingle wit and improvised characterizations with sweet, far-out groove, tight three-part harmony, a little bit of country, a patch of blue grass, a splash of blues, some rock n' roll, and generous folk.
“The Center’s already proven itself an impressive movie house and film venue, and now, we’re thrilled to finally join the rest of the Music Factory in hosting a musical concert at our versatile facility,” states Center Board Member Teresa Davis.
Originally from Detroit, "Me, Her & Her" has performed at numerous LGBT benefits, the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival, and as opening acts for noted LGBT singers including Suede. “When Barb, who is now one of my neighbors up in Lake Norman, suggested that she bring her trio to The Center to help us fundraise, I could not have been more thrilled,” adds Davis.

All proceeds go to The Lesbian & Gay Community Center’s operating budget. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or online at GayCharlotte.com (click "Make a Purchase" and enter multiples of $15 in the "make a donation" box.) Snacks/Beer/Wine are available for purchase. For more information, call 704-333-0144.
